I spent the day spinning up a local Arc testnet from the circlefin/arc-node repo and hit a few issues along the way. Sharing them here in case it saves other builders some time.

If you cloned main before commit 90347cf was merged earlier today (April 10), 

open deployments/blockscout.yaml: no such file or directory

The Makefile enforces Foundry v1.4.4 specifically. If you have a different version, the build stops with:

Error: Foundry v1.4.4 required. Run: foundryup -i v1.4.4

The fix is in the error itself. Just run 

Hardhat prints a warning on Node 25+ saying it's not supported. The README recommends even versions (20.x or 22.x). If you're on an odd version, switching to Node 22 is the safer path.

On my machine, the full build took around 30 minutes because Docker compiles the execution layer (Reth) and consensus layer (Malachite) from source. Network speed and hardware will change that number, so yours might be faster or slower. Worth knowing before you start so you don't kill the process thinking it's stuck.

Cargo also pulls a lot of Rust dependencies during the build. If your connection is unstable, you may hit "operation too slow" timeouts. Use the most stable network you have for the first run. Subsequent runs are much faster since Docker caches everything.

 before trying again. It clears stale containers and networks that can cause weird issues on the next attempt.
