I'm Taylor Ferran. Together with my team I'm building Crumb, a nanopayments processing platform for merchants on Arc.

I presented at the Arc Hackathon Spotlight yesterday and wanted to bring the conversation here.

Crumb lets merchants accept USDC payments with no wallet popups, no gas friction, and no minimum transaction floor. P2P payments, QR codes at the register, embeddable checkout widgets, and a merchant API are all live. Every payment is settled on Arc through batched on-chain transactions, which is what keeps costs low enough for tiny amounts to make sense.

Nanopayments just dropped and we're excited

The release of nanopayments changes what's actually possible here. When you can process fractions of a cent economically, the use cases stop looking like traditional payments and start looking like something new entirely.

Pay per article or piece of content, not a monthly subscription

Pay per API call instead of tiered billing plans

Streaming payments, pay per second of compute, per token of output, per byte of data

AI agents paying autonomously for the tools and data they need, no human approval required

That last one is where we think this gets really interesting. An agent that can pay for a web search, a data feed, or a model call without a credit card or billing account on file is a fundamentally different kind of software.
