Online work has a trust problem. Heldby is built to help solve it.

a freelancer finishes a project, sends the files and never gets paid. On the other side, a client pays upfront and the work never arrives, both sides take a risk. Heldby aims to make that risk smaller with

The client and freelancer agree on the payment amount, deadline and a clear brief describing the expected work

The client deposits USDC into a smart contract before work begins. The freelancer can verify that the payment is funded instead of relying on a promise

The freelancer submits a link to the completed work. The client gets 24 hours to review it and release the payment. If nothing is delivered before the agreed deadline, the contract can refund the client

That's where PiP, the heldby's AI agent comes in. It reviews the original brief and submitted work, then determines a proposed split of the escrowed funds when a dispute or client non response triggers the process. The verdict is recorded onchain and the contract restricts payouts to the two parties in the deal.

PiP isn't a guarantee of perfect judgment. The goal is to make dispute handling more transparent and enforceable through smart contracts.

→ Transaction fees are paid in USDC, without a separate gas token
→ Sub second transaction finality
→ USDC bridging through circle's CCTP
→ EURC swaps directly in the app

the app and contracts are open source, so the system can be inspected rather than trusted blindly. We're not trying to replace trust between people but we're just building better payment rules for when trust alone isn't enough.

Heldby is live on Arc Mainnet, try it and feedbacks from other builders are most welcomed:

USDC escrow on Arc. Lock payment in a smart contract; an AI agent checks the work against the brief and releases it. No middleman.
